Nothing hidden — here's the whole list
The 1% is the only fee we keep. Everything below is a pass-through, a tax, or a service you opt into — always shown on its own line.
SellerSide platform fee
A flat 1% of the item subtotal on a completed marketplace sale. Lead-only categories pay nothing.
Payment processing
Roughly 2.9% + $0.30 from the payment processor. Shown separately and never marked up.
Shipping
Buyer-paid shipping flows to the label. Rate shopping via EasyPost/Shippo abstractions.
Taxes
Sales tax is calculated by the tax engine at checkout and remitted — never blended into your fee.
Optional boosts
Promote a listing only if you choose. Boost spend is always itemized as a seller cost.
Verification
Basic verification is required before publishing. Enhanced verification applies to high-risk categories.
Escrow / high-ticket
An optional escrow workflow for high-ticket goods is on the roadmap — clearly priced when it ships.
How the math works
The platform fee is 1% of the item subtotal only — not shipping or tax. Payment processing is estimated on the full amount the buyer's card is charged. Tax is collected and remitted, so it isn't seller income. Your estimated net payout is item subtotal + shipping collected − platform fee − processing − optional services.
Questions sellers actually ask
What does “lead-only” mean?
Some categories — like vehicles and real estate — aren't checked out and paid for on SellerSide. You list the item and buyers send you an inquiry (a “lead”); you close the deal directly. Because there's no marketplace sale, there's no 1% fee on lead-only listings.
What's escrow for high-ticket?
For expensive items (think $5,000+), an optional escrow service holds the buyer's payment with a neutral third party until the item is delivered and verified — then releases it to you. It protects both sides on big-money deals. It's on the roadmap and will be clearly priced when it launches; you'll only pay for it if you choose to use it.
How does 1% make free shipping easier?
At a flat 1%, far more margin stays in your pocket — so you can fold shipping into your price and advertise “free shipping” (which buyers love) while still undercutting sellers paying 13–20% elsewhere. The builder above shows exactly how it pencils out.
